AFL Bans Sydney from Competing in Future Grand Finals For a Bit

The AFL has sent a brutal message to the Sydney Swans after yet another Grand Final shellacking against the Brisbane Lions.

This marks Sydney’s 4th GF loss by another significant margin making the total average loss over the past 4 GF’s 57 points.

A spokesperson for the AFL told The Times,

“It seems that Sydney are very good at making the Grand Final but not very good at competing in them this past decade. We sympathise with everyone who lost interest at half time and were forced to make small chat with the cretins at their party”

Under the proposal, Sydney will be ineligible to compete in any future Grand Finals unless they can prove to the AFL that they will turn up and put up a decent fight.

We tracked down a Sydney fan to ask them what they thought of the ban. They conceded it was perhaps for the best adding,

“Not any teams play in 4 Grand Finals in a decade and not many fans have their hearts broken. I swear I’ve had toxic exes that I’d rather spend Grand Final day with than watching the Swans at the moment”

Of course, not everyone is on board with the ban with clubs like Flagmantle, St Kilda, Carlton and Essendon saying that getting to GFs and losing them would be a great problem to have.

It’s all relative.
