The Bluey movie premiere in 2027 is tipped to be the biggest night for fully grown millennials since The Wiggles concert.
So it’s no surprise that Disney has released a statement to all millennials advising them that they won’t be mad, just disappointed if millennials don’t bring the target market along: kids.
A spokesperson for Disney told The Times,
“Deep down, the hard working team behind Bluey still lie to themselves every day that they are producing a hit children’s show. They are right that it’s a hit but they may be wrong about who actually watches it the most. So please let them believe it for once millennials, take your damn kids”
We tracked down a millennial superfan who told The Times that his child doesn’t actually like Bluey, adding,
“We started off watching it together but he lost a bit of interest whereas I really doubled down. I watch it all the time. Even repeats. I’m going to that movie premiere alone”
It seems that particular freak isn’t alone and Hoyts is even considering declaring the opening night of Bluey to be an adults only event. To “let them off the hook”.
A spokesperson for Hoyts clarified,
“We know where our money is going to come from so we don’t want to guilt or shame our cash cows. If there’s no choice but to leave the kids at home they can live their truth”
Nice.
