Hungry Jack’s renames soft serve flavour to “Flagmantle vanilla” in Freo taunt

West Coast Eagles’ major sponsor Hungry Jack’s has taken the inspired move of renaming its standard soft serve flavour to “Flagmantle vanilla” in honour of their rivals game style on the weekend.

After a flogging by the Indigenous Allstars, it came out that coach Justin Longmuir instructed his players to play a “vanilla” style of play.

While no one would have expected the team to go at the ball with the intensity of a grand final, the admission did leave a bitter taste in the footy world’s mouth. HJs to the rescue! A source close to HJs told The Times,

“The flavour will now be named after Freo until Freo get a victory on West Coast. So unfortunately, this is a limited time offer, some might say a very limited time but stranger things have happened, like an Eagles derby win last year that arguably cost them a place in the finals”

A Flagmantle insider has confirmed the Eagles’ sponsors barb did indeed sting but vowed not to let the taunt get in their way of going “full Neapolitan” during their first game of the season. Adding,

“As soon as the season starts we’ll be bringing the chocolate and the strawberry. Don’t you worry about that. Take a big cross section scoop and get all those flavours in your mouth. I think the metaphor has fallen apart a little here”

Let’s see if this only serves to ignite some hunger in the Freo playing group.
