Kohli admits he only made contact with Konstas in the hope some of Sam’s talent would rub off on him

The cricket world is in shock after Virat “King” Kohli appeared to go out of his way to bump into batting phenomenon Sam Konstas.

However, the Indian Cricket Team were quick to go into PR mode to make it clear that there was absolutely no malice involved and the out of form batter was just hoping some of Sam’s talent would rub off on him.

In an exclusive statement to The Times, a spokesperson told The Times,

“Virat was in the presence of greatness and thought that maybe some of that could be shifted to him via a light brush. There is no way the contact you saw was just an out of form king venting his frustration at a 19 year old belting the best pace attack in the world on debut”

After hearing the explanation the Aussie cricket world has calmed down. Admitting that it makes total sense and Kohli would be wise to try and emulate some of Konstas’ form.

Not everyone was happy however. We spoke to a boomer in the stands of the MCG who told The Times,

“What am I watching? Big Bash! From a greengrocer! A ramp shot? These truly are dark days for test cricket. In my day it was good WASP boys averaging a run every 10 overs. That’s the way the game is played”

OK mate, get some rest.
