Macklemore questions entire shopping philosophy after seeing prices at Perth Op-Shops

“Thrift Shop” singer and Grammy thief Macklemore has been shaken to his core after deciding to indulge in his favourite retail therapy during his visit to Perth this week.

Back in 2012, the rapper released the song which praised the economical and sustainable shopping practice. Going as far as to accuse anyone buying new clothes of being “tricked by business”.

Given he was disgusted at paying “$50 for a t-shirt” ($75AUD) he got the shock of his life at a few Vinnies. A source close to Macklemore told The Times,

“We shopped for a few minutes and he asked me if I’d inadvertently taken him to a designer store. I told him that we were in Australia’s version of thrift shops and he kept asking where the thrift was?”

Indeed, in place of thrift was extortionate pricing after the Op-Shops clearly took a pricing leaf from the book of Marketplace car sales. The source continued,

“He broke down in tears and cursed himself for performing the hit song at his Perth show. He knew he had given the people terrible advice”

Macklemore apparently fell to the ground in disgust after spotting a Kmart item that was priced higher than it was brand new at Kmart. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing!

He felt obliged to spend a little to help the charity and went home on the day with a $450 jacket.

Macklemore has vowed never to perform the song in Australia again until something is done about Op-Shop pricing.

Don’t hold your breath big guy.
