MCG sustains extensive rust damage from the flood of salty tears flowing from Indian cricket fans

The 2025 AFL Premiership Season is now in doubt after engineers confirmed that Indian tears had caused extensive rust throughout the ageing stadium.

The salt flowed thick and fast yesterday reaching tidal wave proportions when Yashasvi Jaiswal was given out despite the snicko meter failing to detect a reading in the DRS.

Despite the technology failing, it was clear there was significant deviation and the young Indian batsman was sent to the pavilion. Clearly, this was not received well.

An engineer working on the repair operation said he’d never seen such incredible levels of rust to the metallic structures holding up the stadium. Adding,

“If you’d told me that someone had driven the MCG into the ocean then I’d have believed you. Clearly the Indians are very salty”

It’s not just the fans that added to the extreme levels of salt, with the captain Rohit Sharma and legend Sunil Gavaskar throwing a tantrum.

The Indian great even tried to claim the deviation off the glove was an optical illusion.

Hopefully the G can be repaired!
