New Eagles coach McQualter told he’s not eligible for a Hungry Jack’s franchise until he changes surname

Andrew McQualter has been announced as the new coach of the West Coast Eagles and its major sponsor was on the blower within minutes of the announcement.

Sources close to Hungry Jack’s told The Times that the fast food chain told them that they better not have offered him a franchise while sporting the prefix of their most hated competition.

An insider told The Times,

“I was close to the call and Hungry Jack’s couldn’t believe it. They told the Eagles that the only reason anyone would be wanting to put their hand up for this role is to snag a lucrative HJ’s franchise and it will be a cold day in hell they hand the reins over to McCoach”

Naturally, the Eagles are said to be embarrassed by the mistake and are triple checking correspondence to make sure they didn’t lead McQualter into thinking he was a shoe in for a franchise.

However, there is another option. McQualter can turn his back on his family name and go by Coach Qualter. Which has a bit of a ring to it. A whopper sized ring, if you catch HJ’s drift.

It wouldn’t be an Eagles coach story without some controversy however. With some believing that McQualter is a McSpy for ol Ronald himself.

Time will tell, especially if Maccas manage to work out the secret to a slightly more reliable ice cream machine.
