New ferry stop planned for Geraldton to service Perth’s most northern residents

After news broke that the WA Government would be building new ferry stops at Matilda Bay & Applecross, residents of Perth’s most northern suburb were left asking “what about us?”

Accordingly, we understand that after a rather heated phone call with Geraldton, WA agreed to expand the TransPerth network to Gero.

A spokesperson for the WA Government told The Times,

“We don’t want to leave any Perth resident behind with the long awaited expansion of our ferry network. Accordingly, we will be giving Geraldton the stop that they wish under some pretty strict requirements that they behave themselves and under no circumstances are they to go full Gero on the journey”

Logistically, the journey is somewhat of a challenge for TransPerth given that the new electric ferries will require a 15 minute charge every hour. Nevertheless, no one wants our northern residents getting a bee in their bonnet over this.

We spoke to a Gero resident who told The Times that he couldn’t wait to hang a line off the back of the ferry and crack a few tins. Adding,

“It is physically not possible for a Gero resident to get on any sort of watercraft without a can of Export and a fishing rod. It just can’t be done. So they better get that through their thick skulls before Thommo and the boys tap on”

Ominous warning indeed.
