Metro’s Freo announced last week that it has been busy renovated the iconic Freo nightclub and will be reopening this weekend for the launch of a “superclub”.
Naturally, punters have been more interested to know whether the floors have been cleaned or replaced.
The Times is happy to report that the previous floors have been donated to Australian adhesive company Clag to help them develop a super adhesive.
A spokesperson for Clag told The Times,
“Everyone in the adhesive game knows about Metropolis Fremantle’s floors. We reached out to the company and they said they were happy to give us several square metres for us to study. It’s remarkable what we’ve learnt and if we can get some square metres of Hip-e-Clubs floors we’ll be close to a break through!”
Sadly, the kind of adhesive in development will unlikely be made available to the general public. It’s just too powerful. Something the tradesman working on the reno learned the hard way.
We spoke to a tradie who said the floor had claimed dozens of work boots. He added,
“Mate, I think not having weekly offerings of Tarocash dress shoes made the floors angry. They were really out with a vengeance and wouldn’t let go. I loved those work boots mate”
Now if only they’d commit to bringing back Hungry Jack’s Freo.
