In a move that will shock industry insiders, Channel 7 man Brian Taylor has sensationally been poached by Nine to come and commentate the Olympic Games after the network decided the public hadn’t already been through enough.
BT will bring his thunderous overreactions to sports such as archery, badminton, synchronised swimming, BMX, and everything gymnastics.
We understand that much like learning AFL player’s names, BT has dedicated no time or energy to doing the same for the events he’s scheduled to call.
He has also spent no time learning the rules or laws of the sports he is scheduled to call. Some are describing it as Tubby Taylor 2.0. A source told The Times,
“Imagine watching a beautiful, skillful sport like women’s gymnastics and having BT loudly yell their names incorrectly and make an absolute dog’s breakfast of the commentary. It will be masterful just like Tubby on the diving”
We are also informed that Roaming Brian will extend to the athlete’s accommodations and with any luck he’ll get to interview a couple trying to work around their anti-sex beds.
While it is unusual for personalities to cross networks, it’s clear that despite not having the rights to the Olympics, Channel 7 is desperate to milk some of those sweet Olympic clicks. So sending one of their own makes a bit more sense.
