Perth Airport asks passengers to bring a jerry can full of jet fuel with them to check-in

Perth Airport has sensationally requested all upcoming passengers to “help out” and bring a “jerry can or two” or jet fuel with them as they arrive for their flight.

The request comes as the Airport encountered an issue with their fuel delivery systems earlier this morning which threw their schedule into chaos.

Planes were unable to leave their gates until being refuelled and this caused a knock-on effect of delays, cancellations, and general frustration.

We spoke to a passenger who got the message from Perth Airport, they told The Times,

“They told me that it’d be tremendously helpful if I could bring in a jerry can of jet fuel. They said it’s not easy to get and if I could be a champ and jump the fence at Jandakot and siphon some fuel from a Cessna that’d be terrific”

After doing just that, the passenger complained of feeling pretty crook and also sprained his ankle running from Jandakot security. Nevertheless, Perth Airport was stoked with his efforts and gave him a free food & beverage voucher to the value of $5 for his trouble.

Perth Airport has also sent out a 2nd message to passengers reminding them to go and grab the special jet fuel jerry can attachment that will allow for direct filling. It can be grabbed from the nuffie section of Bunnings.

Naturally, some people weren’t so keen to lend a helping hand. We spoke to a passenger who was waiting at Perth Airport and was livid at the request that he could go and grab some fuel to kill time. He added,

“What the fark? I really think they underestimate how much I’d like to be en route to my destination. What do they want me to do? Getting an Uber to go and source jet fuel is very inconvenient but if it gets me airborne sooner, may as well”

Running out of fuel has all the hallmarks of a 2019 Ross Lyon when he famously ran out of juice on his way to a Docker’s game. It is also reminiscent of the time Perth Airport forgot to pay the electricity bill and had their power switched off.

Good times.
