Qantas has launched a genius initiative to drive up more business for the new Paris to Perth flight, appealing to the French backpacker community.
With every ticket purchased, the French backpacker will also receive a free slackline, map of South Freo, van rental discount and some much needed penicillin.
A spokesperson for the airline told The Times,
“We understand that the French thing to do in Perth is become a rudderless hippie in between being forced to pick our fresh produce for a longer stay. We hear them, we acknowledge them and we provide for them”
We spoke to André who said his internal clock was ticking and having just graduated university he was ready to follow in the French’s WA footsteps. He told The Times,
“It’s an offer I cannot refuse. It has always been my dream to park a van inconsiderately on a nice summer’s day at South Beach and slackline until the sun goes down. Then to treat whatever infection occurs after making the van stink even worse than it does”
Naturally, the people of South Freo aren’t happy. With many asking Qantas to hand out maps of nearby Manning Park in Hami Hill instead.
A South Freo local told The Times,
“Oh we’ve had a gutful of them. They are taking away the opportunity for local hippies to be inconsiderate. We have to put our local farkwits first”
Well there is always going to be haters!
