A local second hand car salesman has seen a prime opportunity today after a clueless P-Plater entered his yard with an even more clueless father.
After hearing that the kid was after a reliable, cheap and stylish car, the dealer recommended that he look no further than his range of Holden Captivas.
The young man was then treated to the privilege of being able to sit and feel out a number of Holden’s flagship vehicles. He told The Times,
“He joked that my mechanic was going to hate me because I’d never need him again ha ha. He also said that one Captiva is all I’d ever need or want”
After going for a test drive, the dad had some questions about a number of weird noises he heard. The dealer was quick to dispel the concern,
“None of that is related to the timing belt”
The father then allegedly attempted to press the man on why he would single out the drive belt, only to be told that Captiva’s timing belt was “legendary amongst mechanics”.
The son was also shown a number of Holden Cruzes that the dealer assured would be walking off the lot any minute now.
