Unease falls over the South West as locals sense the great caravan migration draw ever closer

With only 3 weeks left of the dry season, the thousands of caravans that ascended upon the Pilbara & Kimberley regions have done a 180 and have set their sights on the South West and any unguarded roll of toilet paper they can find.

Despite being many KMs away, South West locals can sense the slow, rumbling rhythm of the grey nomads as they slowly make their way back south to avoid the stinking hot temperatures that are coming.

We spoke to a Busselton local who said he saw the caravan migration in his dreams every night. Adding,

“I can sense it on the wind. It’s like the great Orc army marching from Mordor. We know we have a few weeks to prepare but it’s never enough. Nothing ever prepares you for what happens”

Many of the caravans hope to be clogging up the Southern roads and parks by the Kings Birthday public holiday on the 23rd September. Margs local knows this all too well, adding,

“It is our cross to bear. I’m just making sure I say goodbye to all my favourite cafes and spots now. We all wish it didn’t have to happen but our misery is a chance for our Northern comrades to recover from what they have endured since May”

Good luck.
