WA Labor is on a roll of education related promises ahead of the next State election.
As part of their commitment to improving the standard of education in the State, they have promised to do more to ensure every child in Westralia understands that the pipeline of attention seeker to Z-grade celebrity isn’t something to aspire to.
Naturally, educators have their work cut out for them. With many of the new generation wanting to avoid the ever-depressing job market by securing a bit of fame in the hope of transitioning into a life of social media endorsements.
We spoke to a teacher who told The Times,
“What we really want to do is give children the tools they need to dream big. Not to dream of being a vacuous, garish blight on society that only exist to line the pockets of an increasingly dumb media landscape”
Instead of making a fool of yourself for Channel 9 ratings, children will be encouraged to consider trades, professions or take the plunge and be Entrepreneural – in a way that doesn’t including spruiking diet tea after appearing on MAFS and a bunch of other reality TV shows that further debase us as a society.
Of course, some kids just aren’t that bright and the allure of the reality TV circuit may be too strong.
Documenting the Human Zoo is thirsty work, so if you enjoyed what you read how about buying Belle a beer, ay?
