The West Coast Eagles have taken immediate action against repeated raids by former AFL player and current coach of the Hawks – Sam “Judas” Mitchell.
To stop the constant raids of their talent, West Coast was forced to install a specially made “Mitchell-proof fence” around their HQ. An insider told The Times,
“The battle against Mitchell is on all fronts. He got Barrass and has been circling Oscar Allen and Harley Reid ominously. We have studied his behaviour and we know when he’s about to swoop, who do you think trained him to be a real big bird? Eagle eats hawks for breakfast”
While the fence is designed to stop Mitchell specifically it will also be effective against other coaches. Although none have had the audacity to fly over to Perth to do their poaching, as far as West Coast knows.
A tradie working on the project said they were asked to electrify the fence. He told us,
“It’s well known that Sam Mitchell is tenacious when it comes to getting his man. So we had to put 10,000 volts through this bad boy”
While the fence should stop Mitchell getting into the ground to poach it will have little effect at preventing wedding-based-poaching.
To that end, a special taskforce has been formed to attend functions Mitchell is known to hunt at and run interception plays to stop him getting to chummy with other big name talent.
Good luck West Coast.
