Westralia only just got over celebrating hitting the 3 million resident milestone on Thursday when news of the latest population flood washed over newsrooms.
Despite Starbucks being available in every country & State WA expats were living with, the allure of joining the Starbucks queue this week was too much to bear.
We spoke to Michelle who uprooted her life in London and booked an emergency flight home. She told The Times,
“I can’t even describe the feeling that came over me. It was more instinct driven you know? There was a heaving line and I wanted a big old slice of that, it’s in my DNA”
Similarly, former Perth man and full time Shitney wanker felt the primal rumblings deep within and flogged it over the Nullabor in one fell swoop. Adding,
“I didn’t even pack properly, forget to put shoes on, I just didn’t care, my people needed me”
In a way it is quite beautiful but in other ways it is an absolute tragedy given Westralia’s essential services and infrastructure are already struggling against the population boom.
That’s the power of a queue.
